Sickness Strike Again!

We just cannot stay healthy in our house. Two weeks ago I took Lib to the doctor because she had been pulling on her ear. It turns out she had a teeeny tiny start of an ear infection so they gave her an antibiotic and we were on our way. The next week (last week) she woke up Sunday with gook in her eye. It turns out it was pink eye. That seemed to go away but she was still not acting like herself so I took her back to the Doctor last Wednesday. They found out that the antibiotics did not work and now she had an ear infection in both ears (while still on the antibiotics). It was not good. Oh, and the doctor said I had pink eye too. So off to the pharmacy we went for new, stronger antibiotics that hopefully did the trick. Meanwhile I was starting to get Libby's cold and Jim and I both were really run down because she was getting us up every 4 hours at night. It was rough...but now today we are doing much better!! Last week Jim and I stayed home with her and had some help from my wonderful parents who volunteered to come up to watch/play with her. So it all turned out great and as far as we know, no one else has gotten sick but me. Hopefully we can go a few more weeks before anyone gets sick in the household!

1st Big Girl Bath

Lib had her first 'big girl bath' on Sunday where she sat up during it. She loves everything about it! The ducky, the letters...oh she just wanted to play with everything in sight. The only issue was that she really did need to get a bath too. =) The wonderful news was that she did not mind the water getting into her eyes when we washed her face/head. I know she cannot wait for the next time!

Happy Anniversary!

Jim and I are celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary today. We both took today off work and went to lunch and watched a movie at home. It was really nice to spend some time together.

So to my wonderful husband, Happy Anniversary and I love you!

Napping

Libby used to love to sleep..now she hates it. She is still an angel at night and falls asleep on her own (99% of the time)...but lately she either rarely naps, never naps, or takes an extended nap during the day. Over the weekend she was taking 90 minute naps consistently from 9-10:30AM. It was wonderful - for her and me. Now the daycare tells me today she hasn't napped (as of 1PM). This means we will have a very cranky baby tonight. Joy! What are you supposed to do that? You can't force them to sleep.

Growing Up

Libby is growing up so fast. It is making me so sad. She now has 2 (TWO!) teeth, she can semi sit up, and she is trying to crawl. Is there a way to slow the growth pattern down? Soon she'll be going everywhere and I'll never be able to catch her. She's also eating everything under the sun that she can get in her mouth: Green Beans, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Apples, Bananas. Yum! I can't believe she is 6 months old...I can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring.

6 Month Photo Problems

Jim and I decided when Libby was born that we would get her pictures taken professionally every 3 months. Libby's 3 month pictures went fabulously. Her 6 months did not. Our mistake was not using the same woman that took them the last time. She was the manager of the store. This time we had a very young woman that frankly knew nothing about babies. She asked us how old the baby was and if she could sit up. We promptly replied 6 months and yes but only for very short intervals of time. So her response was for us to have her sit on the x in the middle of the room. Sit? Um, ok. So we put her there and make sure she wasn't wobbling around. This sitting thing was really new...like 3 or 4 days new where she could go about 30 seconds on her own w/o trying to topple over. I wasn't a big fan of my baby going splat every 30 seconds on a floor I wasn't entirely sure was clean. We kept going though. So she made it about every 30-60 seconds sitting up and then went splat on the floor. I finally made her stop on the 3rd time when her head hit a metal bar that I did not know was there. Libby took it like a champ and did not cry until I got her to laugh and she fell over. Then she cried and cried and that's when the pictures were taken from Mommy and Daddy's arms.

We've changed our minds and won't be back until she is 1 year old. I'll be taking her 9 month ones myself.

We are starting Libby young in liking Disney. She has a love/hate relationship with her Minnie Doll. Normally, she'll hug it, bite her nose, or grab her by her ears/bow and whack the heck out of it. You just never know!
