Sorry - I am a little behind on updating everyone since it's been more than a week since I went to the high risk Dr. The appointment went really well. I was very scared/nervous to go...but in the end I think this is going to be a really good thing for me and TJ. Up came first was the ultrasound...which, lets face it, I can never get enough opportunities to look at the little guy. Which, by the way, we are DEFINITELY having a boy. He wasn't shy at this appointment. He is still measuring very large so they are watching him closely to make sure he continues to grow like he should. The goal is make it to 37 weeks. The high risk Dr has high confidence we can make it. My BP was a bit high there but eventually came down after I chatted with everyone and was there for almost 90 minutes. I was prescribed some BP medicine to take twice a day. What I didn't know was the side effects of the drug. It makes me sleepy, nauseous and dizzy. Luckily, after taking it for a week those seem to have lessened quite a bit. I also have to log my BP three times a day and then fax in the results once a week so they always know what is going on. At first it didn't seem like the medicine was working. But now, I can totally see that it is. So lets hope this trend continues and we can make it a full 39 weeks (unless he gets too big and would grow better outside than in =) ). So that's about it. I go back to my regular OB on Wed and then the high risk Dr in 2 weeks or so. I'll be going to the Dr more and more when I hit 32 weeks...like twice a week for monitoring at the high risk Dr at the hospital. Thank goodness my boss at work is so understanding. He's letting me work from home now and with the hospital only 15 minutes away this shouldn't be too bad.
On a happy note, the wave of babies being born has started. Elliot Stephenson made his arrival Thursday afternoon look adorable. So next up is my sister who is 36 weeks today! Bring on the babies!
